How to create and manage Smart Home scenes in K4Community Plus

Smart home scenes are pre-programmed settings that automatically control your smart home devices based on certain inputs like time of day or status of another device.

Examples of scenes you can create include but are not limited to:

  • Setting your thermostat to a preferred temperature for morning or night time.
  • Turning on a light when motion is detected. This can also be limited to a certain time of day

Here are some helpful videos to explain more about Smart Home Scenes:

How to trigger a scene by another smart home device

This feature enables a device to automatically carry out an action in response to the activity of another device. For example, you might want your bathroom light to activate when the motion sensor detects movement. Additionally, you can specify time restrictions for this action. For instance, you could configure the light to turn on with motion detection during the day but remain off at night to avoid bright lights at night. Alternatively, if your light is equipped with a dimmer, you can set it to illuminate at a lower brightness overnight and at full brightness during the daytime.

How to change a smart home device at a certain time

This feature enables you to schedule a device to carry out specific actions at designated times throughout the day. For example, if you want to ensure that your Living Room fan is turned off every night before you go to sleep, you can set up a scene that automatically switches off the fan at 9:00 PM. While you still have the option to manually turn off the fan, using this scene acts as a safeguard, ensuring that it is turned off even if you happen to forget.

How to manage the temperature in my smart home

This allows you to have your thermostat set to a certain temperature based on time of day. For instance, if you prefer your home a bit cooler as you sleep, you can set up a scene that turns the thermostat down at nighttime and another scene that turns it back up in the morning.
