K4Community enterprise-managed Alexa devices are plug-and-play. To install the device, simply identify which room the device belongs to and plug it in!
Alexa devices connect to the smart home controller through Wi-Fi, allowing them to control any linked smart home devices as long as they maintain a Wi-Fi connection. This means the physical location of the Alexa device does not factor into its functionality. Therefore, it is important to place the correct devices in the appropriate rooms. Failing to do so could lead to confusion, where one resident might wonder why their Alexa isn't operating their lights, while another may be wondering why their lights are turning on unexpectedly.
Alexas are deployed with stickers which identify which room they're associated with, but they can be reassigned after deployment so it's important to maintain the device's room identification throughout its life. If there's any question about which room an Alexa device is associated with, reach out to K4Connect Support and we can identify it for you.
