How to Install a Room using K4Ops

In order to connect to the K4Community smart home controller via your K4Ops app, your device will need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the controller. The network name that the controller is connected to is K4Community.

To Install a Room:

  • Tap on Install a Room
  • Connect to the K4 controller. This can be done in two ways.

Scan the bar code on the back of the controller

  • Tap the Scan Code icon in the bottom left corner. K4Ops will ask for permission to access your camera for this
  • Put the bar code within frame. Once the bar code is recognized, the app will start the connection to the controller

Select your community and room number

  • Locate and tap on your community.
  • Locate and tap on the room.
To more easily locate the community or room you're looking for, use the Search feature at the top of the list.

  • Select the device you want to pair first and follow the on-screen instructions for pairing.

When pairing multiple devices, we recommend starting with the device closest to the K4 controller and working your way out. This will build the most effective mesh network among the devices.

  • Save the changes to the controller. Once you've completed pairing all the devices, the app will prompt you to save your changes. Tap the arrow to continue. This step can take up to 2 minutes

  • Test the devices. Go through each device that you've paired and tap the play button. Then follow the on-screen instructions to operate the device. Once the controller has confirmed the pairing, you can move to the next device.

  • Finish the installation. Once you've successfully tested the devices, you'll get a Testing Complete message. Tap the arrow to finish. You'll get a confirmation page to verify that the installation is complete. Tap Install Another Room to repeat the process for a different room or tap Home to return to the home page.
