DO NOT pair the lock with the Alfred app. Disregard the included consumer instructions and follow the below pairing instructions
Connecting the Alfred Lock to a K4 Smart Home system consists of two steps:
- Z-Wave pairing to the K4 controller (for resident control)
- Bluetooth pairing to K4Ops (for staff access)
Both operations are done in the K4Ops application.
Z-Wave Pairing
Before beginning, make sure the following prerequisites are met:
- Controller is running firmware version 3.25 or above
- Latest K4Ops has been installed from Apple App Store or Google Play (3.15.8 or above)
- Optional Z-Wave module is installed in the lock
In the K4Ops App:
- Go the “Install a Room” section of K4Ops
- Choose the correct community and room
- Click the plus button to add a new device
- Choose Group > “Locks”, Device > “Alfred DB2-B Lock”, and the room the device is in.
- Give the device a name such as “Front Door”.
- Click “Add Device” to continue
- Click on the new device in the device list and follow the on-screen instructions to pair the device
- Once the device is paired follow the remaining steps to test the devices in the room and save the settings to the controller.
Note: If you're adding the lock to a room that has already been installed, you can call K4 Support at (855) 876-9673 for remote pairing to avoid repeating the tests for all devices in the room
