Use the K4 Community Plus search function to quickly find relevant content, events, directory contacts, and searchable text within PDFs. This article explains how search behaves in both the web and mobile apps including in-app location awareness when returning results.
Web - Locate the Search Field
- On the web app, the search field is in the left hand navigation menu under all of the available app sections.
Mobile - Locate the Search Field
- On the mobile app, the search field can be accessed by tapping on the Search icon in the bottom menu
- If you are in the Events or Directory sections, the search field will be pinned at the top of those screens
Searching in Plus App
- In the Search field, type a keyword or phrase and press Enter
- Click the result to open the related post, document, event, etc.
The search feature does search within PDF so if there's information you're looking for that's inside a PDF that was posted the app, Search will return that PDF for you as a match.
Search is location-aware. If you're in the Directory or Events sections when searching your results will be ordered based on where you were when you performed the search. For instance, if you're looking for someone in the Directory and you search for their name, matching results from the Directory will be at the top for you. And same thing with Events. If you're searching for something and you're on the Events section when you do, Events will be listed first in your results.
Tips for Efficiency
- Search from the most relevant section first to prioritize the right result type.
- Use short, specific keywords when possible to narrow results quickly.
- If you cannot find a result by title, search for a phrase that may appear inside the content.
