This article covers how to operate your smart home devices such as lights and thermostats with your K4 Alexa.
The commands and information available from Alexa is the same on Echo Show and Echo Dot, but Echo Show allows you to interact with the information by touch screen.
Only devices paired with your K4Community Smart Home controller can be operated via Alexa.
To operate your smart home devices with Alexa, simply ask her to make the change to the device the same way you would anyone else.
For example:
- “Alexa, turn on the living room light.”
- “Alexa, set living room thermostat to 73.”
Alexa will respond "Okay." and make the requested change.

Tips for Using Voice Commands
- Use the room name of the device if there is more than one device with the same name. i.e. say "Turn on Living Room light." to avoid confusion with the Bedroom or Bathroom lights.
- Speak clearly and naturally and wait for Alexa to finish responding before giving another command.
